SUSTAINABILITY
For LEA Winery, sustainability is neither a label nor a trend. It is a founding principle. A way of thinking and acting that runs through every stage of the work, from the soil to the bottle.
At LEA Winery, sustainability means listening to the territory, responsible management of resources, care for time and people. But it also means research, expertise and vision, because it requires in-depth study to create something truly enduring.
The approach adopted by LEA Winery combines biological sensitivity with the concreteness of numbers, care for the environment with operational functionality, aesthetics with technique.
Every choice – from the use of electrical tractors to digital vineyard mapping, from the reduction of chemical treatments to the use of resistant grape varieties (PIWI) – is the result of a clear strategy, based on a simple question: how can we produce quality wines while respecting the land that provides them?
The method
LEA Winery is distinguished in the Italian and European wine scene for one key aspect: it manages the entire production chain in-house: from vineyard management to dealcoholisation, fermentation and final packaging.
This rare vertical system gives it complete control over quality and a level of consistency unthinkable in fragmented processes.
The project has been designed from the beginning to be efficient, sustainable and innovative. The facilities are designed to accompany the evolution of the wine with the lowest possible impact, adopting state-of-the-art winemaking technologies and targeted energy management solutions.
The company invests consistently in research and development: the cold dealcoholisation method – developed over four years – is one of the most significant innovations in Europe. Unlike distillation, it does not alter the structure of the wine and does not require the addition of artificial aromas.
It is a delicate process, which takes place at room temperature, keeping the identity elements of the grape intact and yielding an authentic, recognisable and elegant product.
This is also what the LEA method is about: not choosing shortcuts, but building new, more complex, but also more just solutions. It is a way of working that seeks balance, precision and positive impact. Not only in the vineyards, but in the world.
Certifications
The certifications obtained by LEA Winery are not mere certificates, but tangible confirmation of a real commitment to the environment, quality and transparency.
Each seal is the result of operational choices, methodological rigour, of a consistency that runs through all stages of production.
The certified organic farming for the entire vineyard area (over 100 hectares), the traceable processes and the adoption of low-impact technologies form the basis of a virtuous model that is constantly evolving.
Being certified, for LEA, is not an achievement, but the starting point for continuous improvement, in the knowledge that sustainability is not declared, it is demonstrated.
